Foundation

The „Wild Poland” Foundation has been established in 2006 as an initiative of Polish environmentalists currently living in Ireland. The aim of the foundation is to preserve and restore Europe’s biodiversity, especially in Central and Eastern Europe. The foundation realizes its objectives by educational activities and supporting environmental project carried out by other NGOs. So far, the foundation has been involved, among others, in the following activities:

• In 2006
  • presentation of the „Workshop For All Beings” Association’s photography exhibition, concerning protection of Polish nature, at the Central Library and Blanchardstown Library in Dublin
  • creation of a slide show on nature protection in Poland and its presentation in several locations in Dublin
  • publication of articles about Polish nature in the Polish immigrants’ magazine „Szpila”
• In 2007
  • organizational and financial support for campaigns in Poland aimed at protection of the Tatra Mountains, Bialowieza Forest and the Rospuda Valley
  • organization of a supporting campaign in Dublin for the protection of the Rospuda Valley and Bialowieza Forest
  • edition and dissemination of a folder „Let’s protect the Rospuda Valley” in Polish and English language versions
  • preparing a regular „Wild Poland” column in the free English language magazine about Poland and Poles „Polish Neighbour“
• In 2008
  • organization and providing over 50 Polish language books for a permanent section devoted to nature protection in the Environmental Information Center (ENFO) in Dublin
  • organization of an outdoor exhibition of large format photography by Artur Tabor, „Wild Poland. Natural Heritage of Europe“
